Welcome, I thought I'd give you a few tips today on pay slips. Have you actually sat down and had a look what's included in a pay slip and how useful it is for your employees? For a start you, must give a pay slip to your employees within one day of providing the pay. Other things that are required by law to be shown on your payslip is the superannuation, the gross amount, the hourly rate if they are on hourly and their actual classification of their job so that they can identify in an award. If they're getting paid correctly, the two things that are optional are your personal leave and holiday pay. It is best practice to include these on the payslips, but by law you do not need to. However, if the employee needs this information and they ask you for it, you must advise them what they have accrued for both annual leave and for personal leave. So I hope that's been a little bit of a help for you and don't forget it's about providing good information to employees. Owning a small business is an exciting challenge.
